Seth, all is forgiven !!!
Wow, what an event.
We went to see Seth Godin speak in London yesterday and I have to say he was truly brilliant. I take back anything I may have said about ego or arrogance, he came across as a brilliant thinker, a genius ideas man and a genuinely nice guy.
He was also kind enough to sign my copy of Purple Cow (my favourite marketing book ever) which I will now treasure forever.
Oh and by the way C, my 'son' was the lovely young Stefan our prizewinner of the free ticket - an entrepreneur from Birmingham already on his second business at the age of 17.
There was a lot said about tribes (Seth's new book)and if you would like to join mine please go to my website and register for free.
That will also get you access to our first live webinar this afternoon (Wednesday 18th February) from 4pm on the subject of driving sales - with my friend and special guest, the business coach, sales expert and wealth guru Paul Avins.
Look forward to hearing from you on the call.

I am sure Seth is mightily relieved that you have forgiven him. I bet that was really playing on his mind.
The talk was excellent and I agree he does come across as a genuinely nice guy.
What I thought was particularly interesting was that he saw his ideas as still being in the early adoptor stage. Interesting also that most people in the audience appeared to be in the creative or pure web-based business arena. This suggests the opportunity is enormous for people with more traditional businesses to adopt the ideas.
C
I agree with you Mr C that there are enormous opportunities for traditional businesses to adopt new ideas, but unfortunately i have found that most managers are unable to alter their view of the world suffiently to enable this to happen.
I have tried to introduce new products to organisations in the past and been asked to produce a business case for new product development.
Unfortunately, the people there were asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking "how do we develop a new product?". They should have asked "does our management team have the capability to innovate?".
So before investing any money in new product development - that question needs to be asked and answered first.
Innovation is an entirely different ball game than running a traditional business and most managers - just aint up to it.
Seth is one of the guys - who doesn't just "get innovation".........
He, like Rachel - actually puts it out there in so many ways.
Good on em..
In my experience the guys in a company with the great ideas and a passion to deliver them aren't at the top. By definition to get to the top you have to conform, which invariably means leaving your brain behind.
That's why its such a great opportunity for smaller, more agile businesses to usurp the big players. I'm really excited about the possibilities for my businesses. Heh, if it all goes horribly wrong at least I tried something new!
C
Quick bit of help needed: how would you sum up the talk in there words? Mine would be:
Connections
Scarcity
Jaguar Channel
I thought the Jaguar Channel idea was spot on.
INNOVATE
DARE TO FAIL
BE REMARKABLE
R
Mine would be:
Rachel
Rachel
Rachel
Was Seth saying anything? sorry I was distracted. No seriously, mine would be
Good is not enough, you need to be remarkable
Be prepared to change everything if that's what's needed
Big is no longer powerful, small and connected is better
C
ps. i would like to smack that young geezer on the front page in the mouth. He looks far too smart for his age.
ha..
I'm not sure being in business at 17 is such a great idea. Shouldn't you be out exploring the world, getting laid and generally being carefree?
C
Shouldn't he still be in school and drinking Special Brew at weekends with his mates?
That's what I did and look at me.
Oh, I see...
Can't you do all that AND be an entrepreneur?
In fact isn't that the point of being an entrepreneur? Doing what you love 24/7... That way nothing ever feels like 'work' ever again.
R
Mr C, what you like, you always seem to revert to sex sex sex with you, I don't know, theres more to life you know!!
On a serious note though, Stef is a really nice fella, good luck Stef with all that you do.
PS: let us know though what you but with AS voucher, heehee!!
thedlog
PS: let us know though what you but with AS voucher, heehee!! that bit was directed at you Mr C, not Stef, he's a good lad.
thedlog
What a great day it was - I learnt so much and began to understand how differently you can view an idea, and that a successful business needs to be SO different, not just slightly different.
Stephen - Thanks for the kind words :)
How nice to read this post, very positive and I think rachel you are good still and please don't stop doing all you do for people in the business world, it is truly nice.
It is so shameful that I have to endure the Brit awards right now, what has become of me this evening???
I may go for a drive and listen to Morrissey's knew album a remarkable artist does anybody else like him??????
2009
Oooh, comments have updated since I saw and posted -
Mr C - Running a business for me is mixed into my life. At this age I've got the freedom to be able to schedule it into my life. Don't think that I've given up on other things that matter, I make a balance of being with friends and enjoying life and getting down to business (which I do of course enjoy!)
thedlog - Thanks for your kind words, was great to meet you and be able to put a face to a name. It was great to be with people like yourself that are happy to discuss business openly. :)
Stefan
We're just jealous. Do you own thing and don't take advice from people like us. All age gives you is more experience but that doesn't necessarily make you wiser.
Good luck with whatever you try.
C
DLOG, of course there's more to life than sex. After all you've got to do something whilst you get your breath back.
C
Thanks C - I think it'd be ignorant and arrogant though to ignore advice from others... but on the other hand I should develop the skills to extract what's needed. :)
Cheers
If you don't mind me saying Stef, it's good to take on board as much info from others as you can, and of course as many people as you can, but at the end of the day it is your own heart/gut feeling that will guide you to what you want.
That of course is the beauty of this blog, so many ideas views, this enables you/us to take a little from each and blend those ideas/views into our own aspirations so as to come out, hopefully, with the perfect recipe for success.
I must say you have done me a great favour, in so much that I think I have, at last, manged to prove to my eldest daughter that you can get on in life at young age, and still go to college etc etc.
Perhaps I should get her to ring you and you could mentor her!!
Thank you very much.
thedlog
"I think it'd be ignorant and arrogant though to ignore advice from others."
I do it all the time but then I'm both ignorant and arrogant. Although I cannot be that ignorant as I know I am arrogant.
C
Oh Rachel ELnaugh is cracking me up yet again!
In her book published last year she states:-
"Interestingly, every person or company who was abusive to me in those early years later either went out of business or came to a sticky end I gues what goes around comed around"
DOES IT?
Well you do openly state that you stole your business Idea, and made a lot of money then again it did bite you back didn't it?
If I am going to take advice from anybody It isnt Rachel ELnaugh read her comment above if she thinks you dont help her she will be pleased the day you DIE.
Nethertheless I am currently workin closely with a Famour business man and his words on Rachel are "Please laugh"
Happy days Rachel lovers, Thank god you forgave Seth! Did he know you have a Voodoo doll with his name all over it? I presume it has no come down?
Mark
thedlog (I do know your name, just I notice you aren't using it so I'm purposely not!),
Definitely have to agree with you - there's no cost to having all of the extra info, yet you're able to go in with the knowledge and make an informed decision.
Thanks for your kind words re your daughter. I think it's a balance to make. Everyone has 24 hrs in a day. No matter whether it's the guy selling the Big Issue or a high net worth individual!
A common response when talking to friends is "Wow, you're so clever" - my response to that is, It's not about being clever. I wasn't born knowing what the term gross profit means, just like everyone else. It's a case of if you want it that much, you just have to work to get there.
Feel free to forward my number ;)
Mr C - Interesting view to take!
Hey Mark
Why don't you fuck off out of my blog and die?
Many thanks
Rachel
Mark, no one is forcing you to ask for help or advice from anyone. Like I said to Stef, listen to evryone, digest everything in life that you hear and see, but after, it is up to you what you use to help on your travels, why do you find it neccessary to slate someone off? Ok ok, so you don't like Rachel, that no doubt is fine with her, but equally so yes Fuck Off, if you don't like her and keep your poisenous words to yourself.
And Stef, I have one thing to say to you,
YOU ARE FAR MORE CLEVER THAN ME.
I admire you for what you have/and are doing in your life.
thedlog
ooh, and another thing, I think your a really cracking guy Stef. You really do deserve all good that comes your way, and I think it will, no, second thoughts I KNOW IT WILL.
Perhaps there is something else you could do, and that is to spread your inspiration to others, what a fantastic world it could be to have people like you, and particuarly people of your generation spreading such positive and intuitive vibes around.
thedlog
PS: ok ok and you Mr C, don't get jealous I like you as well :-)
Stephan, Good luck with all that you are doing. I wish you all the best.
Mark, as DLOG says, you are free to choose who you take advice from. I have only ever seen Rachel's kindness and generosity, so I can't see her from your point of view. Hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere.
Mark
Ignore Rachel's crude response and tell us more about your work with the 'famous business man'. I am sure we would all like to hear more of your views.
Rachel - behave will you. Mark has clearly read your book (who knows he may even have bought it). I am sure his subsequent posts will be more informative than mine (ok no hard).
C
Sorry wrong spelling, meant to say Stefan
Nethertheless I am currently workin closely with a Famour business man and his words on Rachel are "Please laugh"
Where do these idiots come from?
Its all hype and bullshit with a lot of these people. "I know this person", "i own this", "i can do that", i am an ex co/sucker - banker!"
#
So..the...fuck what?
Like Rachel said... f off and go and do it then. Go and snorkle in f* barabados... All poxy fish and heat anyway. Soon get bored.
Who cares!
Reckon you'll soon find out that the more successful you were in the past..
The More you f*d up the economy anyway. Idiots. Get a life. Shut up and say something useful.
I'd like to know who this famous person is you are talking about... cos i'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to be represented by an idiot like you.
Ah good to see that we are such a tolerant bunch of people. Sad indeed.
Mark may be a complete arse (as may I) but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a right to voice an opinion. By flaming everyone whose views may differ you will simply make this a sterile environment.
As even Stefan says (you know the one you wanted to slap) you would be ignorant and arrogant to ignore the advice of others.
Positivity people.
C
Marks comments are hardly awe inspiring are they!!
thedlog
Say it like it is.
Postitivity is another bullshit word to mean "smile whilst your fuking up."
All those positive thinking traders on there running machines, did a marvellous job.
Stuff positivity.
What we need is a lot more sincereity and and a lot more honesty.
If someone is a moron, you tell them they are a moron. And Mark certainly seems to be a moron.
Folks – there's no way Mark is going to say who the “Famour business man” is, most probably because he doesn't exist. Also, 'famous' doesn't always mean right - or successful for that matter.
yes Cranberry...these days...
"famous" equals target.
Target for every tom, dick and harry that comes out of the wood work.
It was always going to happen. People don't like people being put up on a pedastal. Unless they are being flogged or hung, drawn and quartered of course.
I'd say, being a celebrity can be more of a liabiity that anything else.
So i suggest people think before they go sticking the knife in.
It must be a heavy cross to bear.
Especially in times of a recession.
C
You have commented on my Blog long enough to know I'm remarkably tolerant of all opinion - otherwise I would moderate the comments - however just occasionally when people come on just to slag me off in the most abusive way I feel I have the right just to say: F*ck off and die
Especially when it's been a hard day.
R
Lolllll
thedlog,
Thanks for your kind words - very nice to hear that. I do like to be able to inspire as many people as possible, although can't say I have a hugely successful past. Saying that, I'm more than happy to share what went on and inspire as many as I can! There are so many opportunities out there, it's just a case of seizing them.
Hani - Thanks so much for your kind words :).
Sorry about the spelling mistakes and I clearly was making a comment and I quoted from Rachel Elnaugh's book!
What they hell did she respond like that for?, It was her heavy nasty cruel words not mine!
I have never wished anybody death!!!
I strongly suggest People who are in Awe of such an Evil person get well a "Reality check" - No I wont say whom the famous person Is and No I am not representing them for I am not an Idiot, I am trying to show you to not be part of such tosh.
Regardless It is time I stop leaving messages here as for now I am truly bored.
Mark
Well Mark if Rachel is Evil like you say, I hope there are many more Evil people around cos I love Evil people.
thedlog
Oh and by the way I've had a right shite day today!!
Hey, Stefan, throw a curve-ball - say something offensive - go on, I dare ya!
Cranberry,
Thanks! Nothing for me to really swear about, ah shit!
(happy now?!) :D
Good lad!
Stefan
you are inspirational and truely entrepreneurial. you are already demonstrating you have courage, skill and work ethic. A leader for the next generation.
Mark
You have taken the comment in my book out of context.
The point I was trying to make is that, as an entrepreneur on the receiving end of shit people and rejection and hostility it is easy to think their response is something to do with YOU, when in fact it has everything to do with THEM.
People with damaged and negative energy tend to attract disaster - and so if you encounter one on your entrepreneurial path don't allow them to infect you with the same negativity.
R
PS Only boring people get bored...
Rachel
Of course you have the right to say anything to anyone but by your own admission it says as much about you as it does about them.
I hasten to point out, before anyone else does, that I am no paragon of virtue myself!
Also, I have the lowest boredom threshold known to man...
C
Thank you for clearing the point up, such a shame you had to react in a similar way...
So maybe you took me out of context and thus let's enjoy this saturday.
M
noseyparker2009 - Thanks, very kind of you. For a young person like myself that has relatively speaking no worries (i.e. no family to support, a roof over my head etc.) now is a great time to give so many opportunities a go. I'd rather say I learnt how NOT to do something from messing up, than not knowing how to do it because I never gave it a go!
It's only ourselves that limit what we can do and get done, so why not remove those limits and excel?
Cheers :)
I feel that Rachel is right in when she says - "what you think of other people - is true of yourself"
I know what it is like to be anonymous and truly dispise the experience it brings and the damage it can do to human communications.
We need less voyeurs and more do'ers in this country at this time.
So, it would be really good to see more and more of our friends on this blog "coming out" so to speak.
And maybe i might even venture further out myself someday.
best,
Stephen
"Why don't you fuck off out of my blog and die?"
Been busy so havent been on here for a while, but was amazed to read this comment..
Rachel, I just thought that was so unnecessary .. You may not agree with Marks views, but he does quote your book pretty accurately, and assuming he has bought it, deserves a little more respect than you have shown him.
Your comment also shows a lack of imagination in your response. Surely you could have given some more background to that passage from your book? Its a pretty chilling comment and so needs more explanation if we are to understand it properly..
I have come across many "difficult" people and had much rejection in my business life, but I would never gloat over someones death in this way, surely the ultimate in negative energy and bad karma?
I am just sick of people coming on this Blog and slagging me off based on half truths and misunderstandings and media misrepresentation - still happening after 3+ years - it bears no relation to me or the current work I do which is exclusively about helping entrepreneurs on their journey...
So in that respect if you have nothing positive or constructive or interesting to say you're really not welcome on my blog!
R
Depression is anger turned inwards.
When you feel angry, you should let it out. I don't hold with all this phony repressed behaviour.
If you got something to say - say it!! like Rachel did!!!!!
You just might find that there is a human being inside you.
Thanks for being HUMAN Rachel.
ps.
fuck off and die morons. look at yourself in the mirror before you throw crap around at someone else.
"still happening after 3+ years"
But your book came out last year.
This isnt to do with RLD as such, its to do with you as an individual and business person and how you project that image.
If you are receiving critism, its mostly because, normal people with opinions have come to this blog to engage in sensible and enlightening business debate and have seen the mess Stephen and DLOG have made of it. They have fanatically shouted down any view that differs from yours, I mean theirs.
This point has been made before, but you have ignored it and now you are reaping the results of the "atmosphere" created.
Only you can restore the balance by keeping your lapdogs in check and posting issues that enable the kind of comment and debate you would prefer.
Ok Mr A Dragon, I will always agree with you from now on and adhere to your lessons.
There we are, Mr A Dragon is a happy bunny now.
Wishing you very well Mr A Dragon, and I so look forward to meeting you very soon and of course partaking in your wonderful blog, should you ever start one, you most deff' are a true to yourself man and I admire you very much, such a shame that there are not more people around like you.
God Bless
thedlog
'Sensible and enlightening debate'
Are you kidding me?
R
"...if you have nothing positive or constructive or interesting to say you're really not welcome on my blog!"
Er, I'll get my coat then.
C
I don't think that this blog doesn't have interesting content.
Its just some of it seems to be critical of Rachel.
I mean, would you go to Madonna's blog to be critical of her, or Kylie Minnogue? So why are people going on at Rachel all the time. Seems to be a sick pasttime for some people on here.
I can't think why such criticism should be tolerated. I mean, its not like she is a member of the BNP or anything.
Rachel is an entrepreneur, trying to help businesses and develop her own enterprise.
What is there to be critical about?
Whats the point of debating this? Just F*off if you don't like Rachel and what she stands for.
As a regular contributor to Kylie's blog I can tell you that she has a facinating insight into the positivistic reductionist attitude to modern marketing issues. I owe much of my business success to Kylie and woe betide anyone that slags the little princess off.
Diversity of all kinds should be encouraged and the price we pay for that is the occasional idiot. There's no point reacting to it as you simply give it encouragement. Ignore them and they will go.
Now back to Kylie, I should be so lucky.
C
"Whats the point of debating this? Just F*off if you don't like Rachel and what she stands for."
It's not that I like or dislike Rachel, or really know what she stands for..
Why do you think the number of contributors isnt really growing, its the same old names popping up again and again?
Its because the tone of this blog is off-putting. Who wants to be shot down by tweedle dum and tweedle dee all the time? And, in fact, I am willing to bet that they turn discussions round to Rachel more than anyone else.
So, no wonder the debates get more personal to Rachel.
My note to Rachel:
You're clearly becoming somewhat disillusioned with the direction in which this blog is going. Here are some thoughts on how to get it back on track:
1. Set out your manifesto
At present this blog doesn't appear to 'represent' anything. You clearly have an approach and a belief which guides you – but, for all my time on this blog, I still don't understand what this is. The closest I've come is reading phrases such as 'Collective Consciousness' and 'Infinite Intelligence' – which, for the uneducated amongst us – don't mean a great deal. If this is your guiding light – shout about it and evangelise. I can't promise that everyone will agree – but at least the blog will have a purpose and focus.
2. Authentic participation (oops, sounding like Mr. Godin... sorry)
It's only because of Mark's rumpus that you now seem to be being forceful in expressing your opinion – this is great – keep it up! This is your blog – keep control of it – keep it going in the direction you want it to go – but the only way you're going to be able to do that is if you get more involved in the dialogue. Sure you're busy but most of us are also taking time out of our day to be here with you.
3. Encourage debate
I do agree with Mr. Dragon that there is very little enlightening debate here. I originally came here hoping to find engaging business ideas from enlightened people. There are certainly some enlightened people here and I have a lot of fun but there's little focus on business. This could be a great environment which could be achieved by your posts presenting more questions/theories for those of us who are here to engage in/learn about. Without interesting debate you will, inevitably, get trouble-makers who just want to get a reaction for the sake of it because there's not much else going on – and the best way to get a reaction is to have a pop at you – it's your blog after all.
If none of the above grabs you, then maybe it would be best to set up an invitation-only blog or Ning and shut this one down. I doubt I'll make the cut, which would be sad, but this is my honest advice and how I see you achieving your desired environment.
Cripes...if they're not going on at Rachel, they're going on about her blog.
Perhaps you guys should go and make your own blog, if you don't like this one.
Failing that, you could try and ask the kinds of questions that could help you in business terms.
There are people on here who could really help you. Why not tell your story?
Instead of wining about this blog why don't you participate in it without responding to everything you don't like.
Can't you just be positive for once?
And i personally don't see this as business blog only. But there is a growing group of people on here who are true friends and from what i hear.... they are doing some good business with each other.
Don't get left behind guys.
Now let me see... “Rachel Elnaugh...Entrepreneur”.
Yep – got it – I can see where I was going wrong. This is clearly a blog about the weather – not business. I can't believe I missed that!
Thanks Stephen – sorry for wasting your time.
"But there is a growing group of people on here who are true friends and from what i hear.... they are doing some good business with each other".
Mmm, so it just goes to show that it is working. You are absolutely right Stephen.
Oops sorry Mr A Dragon for agreeing with Stephen, please don't send me to the head office for a telling off!!
thedlog
Cranberry, you make some very good points, and better than I did..
"Oops sorry Mr A Dragon for agreeing with Stephen, please don't send me to the head office for a telling off!!"
DLOG, I bet you are partial to the feel of the headmistresses cane! lol
I dont expect you to agree with me all the time or even at all. Your views and Stephens views should be part of the overall debate, unfortunately, because you two are incapable of having a grown up debate and just prefer to shout others down, there will never be any proper discussion on here and this blog will die.
Oh Mr A Dragon, so are so clever so inspiring so right in everything you say and do, how and where did you acquire this great knowledge.
thedlog
Ok guys,
How about this!
Lets get more people coming to this blog.
Lets go all out to advertise Rachels blog by creating links from our websites and getting our friends and family to add links to this blog - from their website.
Add loads of quality links from your squidoo lens and linkedin and facebook pages.
The more links we can add the more people will come to this blog and the more people we get providing their views.
How about doing something like that as a joint effort?
I can provide a monthly report to everyone on here as to how many links are building.
just use keywords like "Rachel Elnaugh", "Dragons Den", "entrepreneur" and maybe certain events she is speaking at for now.
What do you think?
Stephen, I'm in favour of that and happy to help but I do think the blog needs to have greater clarity first. The reason I say that is because I'm here out of habit nowadays rather than because there's actually anything business-like going on - it's nice to check in now and again and have a chat but that's as far as it goes.
The blog needs some kind of a mission statement and a serious purpose – otherwise, it really is nothing more than a showcase of Rachel's personal messages.
I think this blog could be so much more – but that's up to Rachel, not me, to decide.
Cranberry said...The blog needs some kind of a mission statement and a serious purpose – otherwise, it really is nothing more than a showcase of Rachel's personal messages.
But isn't that the whole point of this blog Cranberry?
...........it IS nothing more that a showcase of Rachels personal messages.
But there is another forum which she has advertised where you can get down to business and be serious and which does have a mission statement. Alternatively, attend some of her speeches and lectures. or meet some of the guys on here.
This blog is where Rachel just puts anything she feels out there.
Once you try to classify a personal blog in too much detail, that's when you kill the spirit dead and that's when people just drift away.
And then all you end up with is robots.
I think you've missed Mr A Dragon point Stephen...
"Your views and Stephens views should be part of the overall debate, unfortunately, because you two are incapable of having a grown up debate and just prefer to shout others down, there will never be any proper discussion on here and this blog will die"
You said...
If you got something to say - say it!! like Rachel did!!!!!
Thats exactly what Mark was doing... and look what happened? You all jumped down his throat!!!!
"Lets get more people coming to this blog?"
What so they can get mugged by you two?
I'm enjoying the comments from Rachel, Mr A Dragon, Cranberry, Hani, C, Mr C... and all the other anonymous people who post here... who for some strange reason, you seem to hate unless you've meet them face to face!
It could well be that I'm expecting this blog to be something it's not intended to be...
I read the post where Rachel mentioned her new forum – and I signed up with my email address as requested – but have heard diddley-squat since, apart from the “give me some money to watch a webinar”, email (surely, we should be able to watch the first one for free – just to get a feel for its worth – even if we are only talking £40 odd quid?).
Maybe I'm the one who's disillusioned with what's going on here - or not going on, as the case may be?
Cranberry I am surprised you have heard nothing, it is buzzing, I reguarly get updates about the webinar's. I suggest you post a comment on the forum to either Mike B or Rachel to that effect.
Have you actually introduced yourself on the Introductions bit, that may well make a difference also.
I look forward to seeing you there.
thedlog
I'd be surprised if I've missed an entire login form – but there's always a first time. I signed up and received a confirm email sign-up opt-in link which I duly clicked – got taken to a thank you page and, apart from the webinar email, I have not received any correspondence with regard to the forum – where to sign in, how to set up an account etc.
As I say, I'd be surprised if I've completely bollocksed this up – but maybe I have – how should the sign-up procedure have worked to gain access to the forum?
I'm enjoying the comments from Rachel, Mr A Dragon, Cranberry, Hani, C, Mr C... and all the other anonymous people who post here... who for some strange reason, you seem to hate unless you've meet them face to face!
There is no such thing as "anonymous" people. I don't hate them because they just don't exist.
But people who hide behind masks (like anonymous) are rarely that sincere, so one cannot help but to try to protect from them.
We should all be prepared to say what we think and to stand by what we think is right or wrong.
But we don't all have the think the same.
I think it was C who said that the advantage of being anonymous is that you only get judged on your comments.
I totally agree. As soon as you know someone personally or know their history, their comments can lose their objectivity because you, as the recipient, can say: “well, he would say that wouldn't he”, or, “that's rich coming from him – did you know he once...”.
See what I mean?
Can I ask a business related question?
I'm going to start a blog as part of the marketing strategy for my new company. The posts will be largely generic but related to the particular business. Apart from comments posted (assuming I get any) how can I get data on the number of people who visit, where they come from etc. I know this can be done for the main site but if I'm not hosting the blog how do I get the data (or should I host the blog too?)
Sorry for interrupting the usual banality.
C
Google Analytics is the best way. You'll get isp, region, unique visitors and number of visitors – it's a good tool and will give you as much information as you can get without actually asking the visitors who they are.
If you're going to use Blogger you can get the integration instructions from my blog.
And don't interrupt our banality again!
I mean honestly – asking a business question on this blog...
Communications given freely without a source is not defective in itself.
What is defective is communications which comes from an unknown source and which results in negative opinion of a known source.
In that sense. Anonymous communications is bad.
Two unknowns in called fantasy
Two knowns is called reality
One known and One unknown equals victim and prey - or the other way around.
Or at the very best - people who just cannot identify with one another.
My point is. If you want to be anonymous - be anonymous. But go and interact with your TV set or video game and leave reality to those who would stand up to be counted.
Can you use Google Analytics on any site then, even one you don't host yourself?
C
Communications given freely without a source is not defective in itself.
- yep, follow you.
What is defective is communications which comes from an unknown source and which results in negative opinion of a known source.
- brilliant - gotcha!
In that sense. Anonymous communications is bad.
- still with you...
Two unknowns in called fantasy
- eh?
Two knowns is called reality
- now, at what point is a known a known? Does it need just a name? A face? A character? All three? How can you be sure that, even with all three, you have a known? In fact... oh, bollocks to this.
One known and One unknown equals victim and prey - or the other way around.
- reset button anyone?
Or at the very best - people who just cannot identify with one another.
- found it.
My point is. If you want to be anonymous - be anonymous. But go and interact with your TV set or video game and leave reality to those who would stand up to be counted.
- didn't work.
Bugger.
Can you use Google Analytics on any site then, even one you don't host yourself?
yep....just a bunch of code that you add to your blog.
here is a tutorial and videos you can have a watch.
just cut n paste. Also look on youtube.

C, not with GA. Google Trends is worth looking at for keywords information but it's all but impossible to get proper data on someone else's site other than very generic popularity scales.
unknown = unreal person = anonymous
These people are good with fantasy
They should enjoy it together
known = real person = sincere person = someone who is not unreal
Someone seen
one unreal person and one real person is not a healthy relationship.
I hope that fills in some gaps in your thinking Cranberry.
The issue seems to be the extent to which someone is 'known'. Just because you meet someone it doesn't make the exchange any more 'authentic' than an exchange here. In fact, I would argue that given the number of posts some of us have made (sorry about that) you probably know us better than you think.
C
PS. Thanks for the advice guys on the Google stuff - will have a look
I think we can get out of this infinite loop by Cranberry and I actually going to visit Stephen. It may allay his fears that we are some kind of deceitful non-entities. Oh hang on, we are deceitful non-entities so that won't work.
C
I think it is all about trust and a dialogue.
I myself was anonymous in the beginning, then as the dilogue developed, I decided to meet with people from this blog, ie; Stephen, Hani, etc. And I must say I do have a lot more respect now for those peoples comments and thoughts.
You can't actually get a real sense for someone that you don't know, and yep, have to say it, I/we, do not know the likes of C, Cranberry, etc. So it is rather difficult sometimes to appear abrupt to the likes of.I have to agree with Stephen that communication is all about face - to - face dialogue, it holds more sincerity, trust, etc etc, I am sure you all know what I mean, don't you?

PS: must get down to see you again soon Stephen!!
Maybe so Dlog – but those who remain anonymous probably don't know you either – so to all intents and purposes, you are also anonymous to them.
All this anonymous stuff is so, so, so boring. Everyone is anonymous, except for all those who have met up for a nice cosy chat. Does it really matter if I was Tom, Dick or Harry?
The only ones who seem have a problem with this is Stephen and DLOG… both anonymous to me. As long as you have a name which people can relate to and exchange dialog with, what’s the problem?
Half of this blog is about Stephen and DLOG hassling people to come out from their “anonymous” status… get over it!
Lee - Or Mr Anonymous… un-sincere and untrustworthy
P.S. Would Stephen and DLOG like my Surname so they can make me accountable for my actions?
Cranberry;
"but those who remain anonymous probably don't know you either"
Maybe so, but I have tried to meet with all here on this blog, and yes, some have accepted the offer so to speak, I am willing to meet with anyone who so wishes, so you see I am trying not to be anonymous.
thedlog
PS: even my mobile number has been left on this blog, for all and sundry to view and to contact me, so hardly anonymous am I, it is those who choose not to make contact that make me anonymous, their doing not mine!!
thedlog
No – I'm not saying that you're trying to be anonymous – just that anyone who is anonymous who converses with you, is having an anonymous interaction – like right here right now.
We seem to be communicating ok despite our mutual anonymousness.
I suppose in a way it's because I am insecure to a point, that I like to meet people and talk face-to-face, just feel that one gets a better perspective.

'I like to meet people and talk face-to-face, just feel that one gets a better perspective'
And do you think Rachel's Blog is the place to do it?
Try the pub!
Lee
Thanks fro your advice Lee, I will try the pub, do you know any good pubs, as I've never been in a pub.

Dlog you nutter – I've signed you up for a daily dose of porn via MMS. I wasn't sure of your preferred flavour... so I went for both straight and gay. It shouldn't cost more than a fiver each day – hope that's ok?
Just kidding – but you see my point?
NO, I don't see your point, please explain

My point is: you're handing out your bloomin' mobile phone number on a public forum which could be put to any number of uses by unscrupulous people.
A few years ago I had an Amazon account which got scammed. Someone had hacked Amazon and obtained mobile numbers of account holders. They then proceeded to call everyone directing them to a fake Amazon page to re-activate the account. I trusted the caller because they had my mobile number and knew my Amazon account number also. Obviously, as I 're-activated' my account, all I was doing was simply providing them with the one thing they didn't have – my username and password. Once they had that – they went shopping.
Aha Cranberry, good point, I am obviously too trusting of everyone, especially those who post on here!!!
Hey ho, done now never mind, but at least any one can call me now heehee!!

its just another excuse by the "Cranberry anonymouse" to not come out of the closet DLOG.
They use fear to present a case for hiding behind a mask.
Its just their little pretender games, so they can hide themselves and pretend they are credible. In fact if you do get scammed by putting your phone number on this blog then you know who it was...
It was the ANONYMOUS again!!!
Don't worry, Pretty soon we will all have an alibi for everything when the ANONYMOUS have corrupted everything.
Stephen, do you find your lunacy comes and goes or is it pretty much a permanent condition?
i will leave the lunacy to the hidden critics and the baseless, corrupt people who think that we cannot see them for what they truly are.
"i will leave the lunacy to the hidden critics and the baseless, corrupt people who think that we cannot see them for what they truly are."
'We' being...?
There are beautiful people who sing and dance and then there are the predators who covet them.
I leave "the we" to your imagination.
These people are everywhere and i see people like Theo and Peter Jones and Barclays bank as the predators.
It is beyond me how Rachel has kept going though all of this, but she must be a vey powerful lady that's all i can say - and she must have a lot of love and support from the people who believe in her.
I mean the "anonymous" no harm on here - suffice to say "be real" - "be respectful".
"There are beautiful people who sing and dance and then there are the predators who covet them."
I, see.. and this means what?
Would you consider yourself to be one of these magical, pixie-like all-singing all-dancing folk?
If not, do you know any? I'm a bit peckish and haven't eaten pixie for a while! Well only when she's in the mood!
Would you consider yourself to be one of these magical, pixie-like all-singing all-dancing folk?
Yes, of course i would.
I have spent many years watching people play hard ball, when in actual fact it was really only ever a game of "parcel the parcel". It was a game of "hardests, most corruptist wins the parcel".
I always thought that they were unintelligent, immoral morons.
Well, we have all seen where the "Alpha Smarts", has brought us to.
The government are in fire fighting mode right now. If they want things to get better, then they need to be willing to alter reality for the better.
From unethical, moronic, money grabbing bullshitters to socially responsible custodians of society.
