Introducing Jack Stone

On Thursday evening Sue Stone, my husband and I went to a lovely event on the Super Yacht in Bristol in aid of HOPE - a Charity which aids Helpless, Orphaned, Poor and Exploited children worldwide.

The founder told the lovely story of an old lady who supported the charity by knitting a teddy bear every day until she died... I was lucky enough to acquire one of the teddy bears on the evening for the bargain price of £100 and I have named him Jack Stone.

He will now be accompanying me on all my adventures!

Sp Cute! Hope he brings good luck. In any case, just looking at Jack Stone when you're down should cheer you up some.

Someone once said to me that you have 3 choices in life as a child in difficulty.

1. You can kill yourself
2. You can kill someone else
3. Or You can slowly go mad

As an adult however, you have other choices!

Yep you are right:

1. You can slowly go mad
2. You can kill someone else
3. You cam kill yourself

A child (under extreme circumstances) cannot reach out beyond their captors.

They therefore have 3 choices.

Adults can stand up and change the moment anytime they want.

People get tired and cannot see the wood from the trees. They need to take time to recover their faculties and then be prepared to change the moment for the better.

Nobody and nothing can make your life a misery, unless you decide to allow it too.

Business today is not unlike war. There are winners and losers, energy and fatigue.

To recover people need to think like Roman warriors returning from battle. Resources and supplies need to be replenished before decisions can be taken.

I recall the story of psychologist Victor Frankl who saw his whole family murdered by the nazis at the same as spending 3 years in a concentration camp with his own life constantly under threat.

He used this time to shore up the depression of his captors.

They kept him alive because he made them feel better about their own sorry lives.

He could have only accomplished this by realising that our essential being lies beyond the physical medium, which meant he was not crippled by fear of death and had the presence of mind to stand away from his suffering and look in from the outside, like an oracle peeking into the lives of others.

Whenever i get down, i remember this story and it kind of puts my own worries in to perspective.

"Nobody and nothing can make your life a misery, unless you decide to allow it too".

But not having that very special person in your life can cause misery.
I have lost some very dear people in a very short period of time, great people who always kept me in balance, kept me fighting on, kept me positive, making life so worthwhile.

I really could not handle losing another.

Ok....what has Jack Stone being cute and his bright cheerful colours got to do with Victor Frankl and killing yourself?

People help create you. When they die, the piece of you they contributed stays with you.

Your spirit is like a clay statue and when others contribute positively to you they are adding pieces of clay to you.

So your spirit grows as your clay alter image statue grows.

When these old artists die, what they contributed remains.

That is the best way to look at it.

And you kind of take up where they left off. So now you have to begin addin clay to others and stop thinking like a "dependent". It is time for you to take their place.

Not time too die.

EileenK. On this blog, we tend to talk of Rachel, with Rachel, and sometimes just about each other.

Stephen said...

of course, another way of looking at it is that our spirit is always in tact and that those wonderful people serve to help you uncover parts of yourself as you grow.

In any case: When they die, they leave their work behind - in you!

PrincessWinWin said...

Ok. Sure. Didn't mean to incite another rant.

Stephen said...

Never stop ranting at the Bourgeosie EileenK. There are far too many children dying in this world to cease ranting.

The Bourgeosie wish for ownership and control beyond their right.

They must be ranted at for their desires, their deceipt and their gross incompetence at every opportunity.

Here we go, that bourgeosie term coming up again. I knew it was going to surface at some point or other :-) Whatever. Stephen.

Stephen said...

Bless you Eileenk. You don't like certain words.

Tough!

Jack Stone is definitely not an imaginary friend, he is very real, as you can see from the picture.

Now, whether he will be with me for the entire rest of my life's journey I cannot be sure. But I will enjoy his company while he is with me and accept that there may come a day when our paths will go our separate ways.

For example if I get bored with him and decide to give him to Oxfam.

Not everyone is there for the entire journey, many arrive to teach you a valuable lesson and insight, and then depart. The key thing is to trust in the process - and that the future will be full of interesting new friends and messengers.

And what lessons have you learn't on your journey so far, please enlighten us.

PS: for you must have met some extremely interesting people on your journey thus far.

PrincessWinWin said...

Bless you too Stephen :-) You obvioulsy think the world of one word. Good for you!

Stephen said...

please see passed the word Eileenk and what i am saying by it.

Just look out at the world and you will see.
Millions of people living in small spaces
The few living in big spaces

Millions of people scrapping for limited resources
The few living on vast resources

Millions of people unempowered
The few empowered beyond your wildest imagination

This is nothing to do with road to success stories
This is everything to do with the few bourgeosie in control of the many.

The facts of the bourgeosie are there for all to see.

Most valuable lesson: not to let anonymice upset me

Never mind the Anonymice, it's the mentalists like Stephen that you need to watch out for!

Stephen - I think you need to find yourself a job or a hobby all this verbal masturbation can't be good for you!

You reveal some very interesting points there Mr A Dragon Bob.

Because complexity and confusion starts and finishes with you.

It does not immanate from the words of another.

If you are experiencing confusion, then i suggest you look inward.

What i have to say is only a reflection of what i personally see.

If that is a problem for you can i suggest you don't read what i have to say.

Good luck.

Hmmmmm..

You arm must really be aching!

Didnt you have a teddy bear when you were young?

I am assuming that you aren't in fact 12 years old now and have just discovered big words and masturbation?!

I think Stephen you should start youir own blog and then you can attract people who want to listen to your nonsense!

hmmmm....these reocurring references to masturbation seem to be a source of much confusion and concern for you.

Can i suggest you consider your own thinking i this respect first.

Stephen said...

ps. its true. The anonymice are in fact "scaredy cats". Because they hide behind their fake personas.

Anonymous said...

Stephen, whats this with you and Rachel with the anonymice? I don't come on here very often but you are always talking about it.

We can't all be in the limelight and judging by some of your posts Stephen you yourself are actually a virtual recluse.

You appear to be a total contradiction.

Stephen said...

anonymice.

I might appear to be a contradiction, but thats because i let the anonymice drag me down to their level.

It won't happen again. There is always a way back.

I gotta say this is a weird blog with people slagging Stephen off and him slagging the bourgeosies and anonymouses [whoever they are] off. The queen i spose is a bourgeosarthingy!!

Still, it all keeps me coming back here at least. Would a complete yawn otherwise. Keep up the good work Rachel and Stephen and anonymouses.

I hope to keep you entertained a while longer Adele, but i fear my own insanity will not last long enough to sustain this degree of heresy.
