Labour Isn't Working

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out the reason why Labour is languishing at #3 in the polls.

Voters want to elect a party with a young, fresh, dynamic (and dare I say it, sexy) leader - like the fabulous David Cameron.

Look no further than the remarkable turnaround in the fortunes of the LibDems since they replaced old duffer Sir Menzies Campbell with Nick Clegg.

The best thing that Labour can possibly do right now to salavge any hope of winning the next General Election is to replace Brown with someone much younger, handsome and more vibrant.

Someone like, er, Tony Blair...

I was very annoyed with Boris Johnson when he slagged me off in his Telegraph column after Red Letter Days crashed.

But I later met him when I was doing the Conservative Party Conference in Autumn 2006 and he has an amazing charisma - a bit like a charming boy - and you feel you can forgive him anything.

It is easy to see how he charmed his way to election and I am glad that we are now seeing a few non-conformist and much more interesting characters in politics. We need this to get people interested again!

Like the transformation in business (where we have young entrepreneurial upstarts making huge ground and the pinstripe dinosaurs are becoming something of the past), so it is in politics.

If we want to change the world, first we need to get the people in place with the balls to be a little anti-establishment - and then stand up to change it!

David Cameron today announced proposals to give tax breaks to small retailers based on the contribution to their local community. A pro-small business policy? Haven't seen much of that lately! Great stuff - shame they're the opposition! But maybe not for long...

P.S. Just to let you know, I only removed my last comment as I forgot to click the follow-up comments notification!
