Farewell Stephen

In the recent 'Green Slime' post, Stephen has indicated he's taking a sabbatical from my Blog for a while...

And I just wanted to pay him a small tribute to say thank you and goodbye (but only for a while I hope).

Writing a Blog is only fun when it engages communication, controversy and comment - and Stephen has given us all a brilliant run for our money since he started placing his comments. I know I for one will miss his contributions.

Hurry back soon Stephen - this Blog will be a lot less colourful without you!

Thank you Stephen for your contributions. I haven't always agreed with you, but I think you have a fearless and original mind. You have made me think long and hard about many things, and I have learn't a lot from you. I hope you don't carry as much anger and bitterness as you sometimes sound like you do, although I'm sure a lot of that comes from caring too much. Take care and best wishes to your family.

Such a shame we have another Anonymous person leaving a strange and unreasonable comment!

Why do this, is it attention you crave?
Difficult child perhaps?, Never satisfied? Anonymous's are Dull.
Well don't clog the blog and simply "go".

Rachel may be sending a post about this soon Not sure, but it is soon April 6th when the new Tax year dawns, and I am worried for the rate of the old ISA??

I hope It will give as good as it can for 2009/10.
And theese ISA are only running until around 2012 anyway so what then?, do we think the goverment will ask for a percentage? ha!

Also I was in a meeting today and some of my Directors feel that this UK Goverment, has a secret mission to eventually Introduce the Euro to the Uk, in a way to sell it to us that this is our only hope out of Recession/Depression whatever it is being called in the Media.

Good to see that your directors have such a great grasp of economics then. There has never been a worse time to consider entry into the Euro. You may not have noticed but the BoE has been quite active recently to try and support the UK economy. If we joined the Euro monetary policy decisions shift to the ECB. Furthermore, because of the structure of the EU and ECB, measures such as quantitative easing are pretty much impossible inside the Euro zone.

If you don't believe me, look at what is happening in the EU outside the big economies of Germany, France and Netherlands. The smaller countries are suffering far more than we are here partly because of structural problems in their economies but also because they don't have the flexibility to really manage their economy as it is lumped into the EU block where the big economies rule. Consensus between the big economies in the EU is also proving hard.

If it wasn't so hard to leave the Euro I think some of the members would be out like a shot.

Any government contemplating joining the Euro now would be have to be a government with no economic sense whatsoever....hang on maybe your directors are not so stupid after all...!

While we have diverted away from Stephen, and we are onto money, just thought I would say that: According to our Bank Manager (Corporate) from lloyds, apparently we, the general public will be getting 12% back on our investment (our Tax that Gordon Brown kindly gave to them), into the ailing banks in a couple of years time.

Haha, watch this space!!!!!!!!!!

As a so-called "Anonymouse", I have seen the error of my ways, thanks "Kev".

So I shall reveal myself to all - I am "Bob".

Now will people please stop accusing me of being anonymous!

Thanks,

Hello Harry/bob,

I agree with you Mr C and they were speculating as in a "worst case scenario" way.

Personally I would hate the UK to enter the euro, but one day it is going to happen..

Kev

Well, I hope it doesn't happen, the euro in my opinion is destroying trade, having differing valuing of currencies makes the wheels of the economy turn.

Fluctuating currencies means that each country will import at the best value of the day, one day we buy from France and sell to Spain, the next day we buy from Spain and sell to Germany....etc etc.

It's a like looking for the best deal on the day.

A bit like a bank looking at the in's & out's of your business account, if it is on a continuous level they worry, banks like to see peeks and troughs in the day to day/month to month to workings of our accounts, it means there is an abundance of activity.
