A New Era Dawns

Woke up this morning at 4.30am with the burning desire to go switch on the TV and see what was going on in the US...

And just witnessed Obama's incredibly powerful midnight victory speech.

It feels like we are at the dawn of a new era not just for America but for the whole world. The election of Obama is the signal that people ARE crying out for change; towards a more collaborative, peaceful, fulfilling way of existing, at harmony with others and with the world.

Feels like we had to go through the awful 8 years of George W Bush tyranny of war and greed, and the resulting financial and environmental meltdown, and emerge from that dark tunnel to enable us to appreciate the power of this bright new future. One of hope and daring to dream.

Times, they are a changing.

A good thing Obama winning the Presidential Election, congratulations.

And yes I am hopeful that he can resolve the wars and conflicts of the world.

But I fear other troubles are looming.

1. Increase in racism
2. Rioting, as a result
3. And unfortunately the end result, Assassination.

Sorry all to be so negative, but this is what I envisage.

DLOG - I think you are wrong on this one.

The great thing about Obama is that he represents hope. This election has nothing to do with his colour but everything to do with his message. The fact that he is black is hugely less important than the fact that we may now see real change in America.

This will not create racism. This will surely create harmony. Ok some crazed idiot may try and kill the guy but even if they succeed they will not stop the message. In fact, killing him would simply make him an immortal represention of that hope.

A great day and like Rachel I am daring to dream.

Funnily enough the assasination thing was exactly what went through my mind when I saw him standing there. Let's hope not.

But as we saw with Princess Diana early unexpected death can lead to a kind of martyrdom, in the wake of which great emotion (energy) is unleashed...

To get to change there always needs to be a period of loss and upheaval and letting go of the old to make way for the new, in whatever shape or form that takes.

C, "The fact that he is black is hugely less important"

Sorry C, but this is an extremely important issue, IIT IS THE BEGINNING OF CHANGE.

And Rachel, trust me, the assassination point has not just come to me, I actually envisaged this at the beginning of the race to the Presidency, it was my gut instinct that he would win also.
I do not give out my gut instincts though at early stages, perhaps I should start to keep a diary of them!!

Maybe I am the Nostradamus of the modern age, ooh creepie!!

I have been worried for a long time that they will open our heart chakra and then plunge it into darkness. We must be careful not to place too much on Obama's shoulders.

It makes humanity extremely vulnerable.

As McCain said "It was not your failure - it was my failure".

Meaning - "It was your failure that you made Obama President.

Approach with caution.

Sorry.

Unfortunately, or not, depends how one looks at it, he has no choice but to have more than enough on his shoulders, the President of the USA, is, undoubtedly the most powerful person in the world, (I say person because one day there might be a woman President, I would have voted for Sarah Palin, if she was up for Presidency, you got to admit she's not bad looking, heehee).

By taking on that role of President one has to take the World and more on their shoulders, a massive task only to be taken by a massive person.

All I'll say is Good Luck Obama, I do not envy you.

DLOG (the Seer haha)

It's a massive achievement and I feel immensely proud. We are on the crest of a wave of change and it began in part when Obama allowed himself to believe it was possible to lead a great nation regardless of race. If we look beyond this, we should be able to see race is not the real issue. It's the belief that he carried that 'all things are possible to them that believe'. I listened to his acceptance speech this morning and would like to count the number of times he said 'yes we can'... I certainly would like to read his book "The audacity of hope" - the title says it all. God bless the man.
Anne

Yes, i agree Anne.

I wish the BBC wouldn't keep presenting it as a victory for race.

This only serves to fuel hostility, rather than to concentrate on policies.

I believe Obama is much more than his colour. In fact he is both black and white. He is neither colour or both - depending on how we look at it.

I hope neither Anne or Stephen, or any one else for that matter, see my comments as Racist in any sense.

Good on any one who can achieve such things, Woman, Man, Black, White, Boy, Girl, etc, they all deserve admiration, particuarly when they have achieved great success from nothing, wether one likes the policies/ideas or not.

But Stephen has pointed out/hit the nail on the head with comment regarding the BBC "presenting it as a victory for race."

No it is not a Victory for Race, it is a victory for a better society that hopefully will extend its branches across the four quarters of the globe.

A huge achievment,I wish Obama every success in the world, and hope that this is the beginning of a better, fairer and more peaceful world. Let it be.

Rachel Elnaugh said...

The cynics are all now saying 'Can he REALLY change things?'.

My answer is, he ALREADY changed things - the world vibration raised a notch or three today.

Did you all feel the shift?

I visted a friend today and we were both in tears just trying to discuss what had happened. Impossible not to be moved by the emotion.

Even Oprah said he had raised the collective conscious.

This is the start of something big.

And yes I agree the race issue is a decoy duck. I agree with Anne the bigger issue if that a dream has been realised, interestingly not just the dream of Obama but of his forefathers and the energy they released to engineer the change. 'I have a dream.'

These things do not just work on an individual level. We are far more powerful than others would allow us to think.

I just hope they don't destroy him Rachel. They seem to crush or corrupt all the beautiful things. JFK, Lady Di, Benazir Bhutto, Ghandi, Mandela(persecuted) etc etc.

I sensed very low vibration in McCain ,Chaney, Rumsfeld and Bush, almost satanic. They are highly transparent to me.

Anne Herbert said...

I felt it Rachel... so much I've had goosebumps all day. America is definitely ready for change and so is the rest of the world. You could just tell by the long queues of people as they stood in line to vote; old, young, male, female, black white, hispanic -

Yes he has raised the collective conscious and for this reason the burden of leadership will not be on his shoulders alone - he will be supported and will be a much loved President. Too precious to destroy.
You are absolutely right Rachel - it's the start of something big.

Good God Stephen, never really thought about it before,

"They seem to crush or corrupt all the beautiful things. JFK, Lady Di, Benazir Bhutto, Ghandi, Mandela(persecuted) etc etc."

You are so right, any one that has done good in the world seems to be destroyed one way or another, hmm, they say the truth hurts!

But lets just hope no harm comes to President Elect Obama.

Yesterday I had a chat with someone from the Labour Party, he and his party were extremely pleased with the outcome and said that this is a new begining for all, and yes, that included the people of Great Britain, yes GREAT BRITAIN.

As they said to Maximus in Gladiator, 'Before they kill you they must destroy your name'. You can kill the human being but you cannot kill the spirit. The energy lives on.

This is why killing Osama Bin Laden is also not the answer.

Rachel, "Controversial I know, but I would like to see Osama + Obama sitting down and talking."

Controversial, NO, absolutely not, common sense, YES absolutely.

But that is to simple for many! (Mr Bush).

"They seem to crush or corrupt all the beautiful things. JFK, Lady Di, Benazir Bhutto, Ghandi, Mandela(persecuted) etc etc."

Let's have a look at that list. JFK authorised the use of napalm in Vietnam. Lady Di did what exactly?, Bhutto was accused twice of corruption. Mandela was the leader of the ANC which conducted a 'terrorist' campaign against the apartheid regime. Only Gandhi is probably beyond reproach here.

I'm not saying these people are bad people but what I am saying is that their early death or imprisonment makes idols of them. Some people are more powerful dead than alive ironically.

As for the mysterious 'they' that crushed or corrupted, they seem a fairly disparate collection of interests if you look at who killed or imprisoned the above.

C

The problem is that as fast as we idolise people (see above) we are also quick to demonise people.

Osama is fighting for what he sees as a just cause and the methods he uses are thus justified in his eyes.

Unless you believe in moral absolutes (if so show me one) we should not rush to judge these people but try and persuade them to change. So yes, let's sit down and negotiate with terrorists, as we have done many times in the past.

C

Anonymous said...

C, before I comment on your comment can you tell me in yours eyes what is Osama' just cause, and also what is your definition of a terrorist?

Still a very Happy DLOG heehee!!

All these people i speak of including Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, JFK, Lady Di, Benazir Bhutto, Ghandi, Mandela(persecuted) etc etc were all people that gave the people hope.

They were the most significant people. The great and the good of humanity. At least - this is how the people perceived them so.

They were all taken from us suddenly and what followed was absolute chaos and morale instability.

Had Winston Churchill gone the same way, i dare say we would all be living on the Isle of Germany today.

Great leaders are taken from us so we have to settle for silly-minded middle managers.

Anne Herbert said...

But Stephen, is that not what the world is saying now? That we will no longer settle for silly minded middle managers?

The dreams and visions of our leaders will die only if we allow them to die with our leaders when they pass on.

All these people you mention have left a legacy of some sort, Martin Luther King started the vision and Obama became the fulfillment of that dream because he carried on the mantle. Mandela was imprisioned but the fight for freedom in South Africa was not incarcerated with him and he lived to see a 'free' South Africa in his lifetime.

The point I am making is this, it's incumbent on all of us to share the dreams and visions of our leaders and to carry our little piece of the baton. in doing so, the dream will never die and in the fullness of time it will come to be fulfilled.

I guess what i am worried about is that these people are like gold dust and only come along once or twice in a lifetime.

When they disappear suddenly, we end up governed by weak minded people for the next 50 years until someone like Obama comes along again.

Anne Herbert said...

You are quite right Stephen, they are like gold dust and only come along so often which is what makes them so special hence the tears, euphoria, goosebumps and all the emotions we are feeling at the moment.

Unfortunately as they are agents for change there are some who do not like this and will seek to destroy the source of change. It's a spiritual battle. We have to pray for Obama so that ultimately good prevails over evil and light prevails over darkness.

Anne

Rachel Elnaugh said...

The thing all the murdered/assasinated ones had in common was that they were killed as a result of anger, fear or hate. Negative vibrations.

When people are in a place of joy/empowerment/hope/optimism and - dare I say it - love, then it is impossible to feel anger/fear/hate. They are totally different vibrations.

Thus a simple raising of the vibration so that people are living in that more positive place is enough to effect a huge change.

That is what Obama did yesterday.

And let's not forget that leaders are elected by the collective agreement of many millions of people feeling the same way.

Obama is just the focal point of their collective energy - and in turn has inspired every other person across the world who feels the same way...

This is how it works and this collective alignment is incredibly powerful.

I am sorry to put a dampener on it folks, Rachel is perfectly right of course.

I just want to ensure that we are not sleep walking into disaster and that we are prepared for the worst to happen.

I have seen great people surrounded by wastrels in my past. When pressure was exerted from outside, the commitment of these so called supporters fell away and the leader was left exposed.

Having said that if something does go wrong, i do not believe the people will roll over anymore.

My concern is that if something happens to BO it will cause social unrest. Just the desired effect, i believe for those who prefer war and conflict over peace.

It plays nicely into their hands like 911.

"C, before I comment on your comment can you tell me in yours eyes what is Osama' just cause, and also what is your definition of a terrorist?"

I said that in Osama's eyes his cause is just. But the point is that whose to say it isn't?

Mandela could be called a terrorist as he led an illegal organisation that killed innocent people. On the same basis Hitler was not a terrorist as the millions he killed were done so legally.

The point is the word has a legal as opposed to moral definition. If the state kills its ok whereas if I kill its not. But my killing becomes ok if I overthrow an oppressive state and their killing is then deemed illegal. Confused? You should be.

Aha, C, just as thought, it seems that when someone does not have a uniform, ie Osama, Mandela and so on they are perceived to some as terrorists, but when the likes of Hitler, have a uniform or in the case of Bush, an army with uniform they are not considered terrorists!

So, as soon as someone starts something for the good/peace of a country/world that are unknowns, in the beginning, and who have not been acknowledged by those in power they are immediately considered terrorists. I suggest to you that it is perhaps the other way round, those who have the power are the real terrorists, "Do as we say or else", so much for freedom!

And yes,

Anyone who terrorizes people is a terrorist.

From the lowly middle manager who rules schizophrenically over his staff to governments dropping bombs carelessly on mothers and their kids, to weak minded free masons who only succeed over others through a cycle of deceit - right the way to the freedom fighters who would cut peoples heads off and send people into supermarkets strapped up with dynamite.

All are sources of terror. Including the pornographic media industry who brainwash through irresponsible apocalyptic words and imagery.

So they are all terrorists.

The war on Terrorism means.

The war of the "ugly self".

It is nothing to do with justice and everything to do with the worst kind of humanity raging against the great and the good.

There is nothing so frightening as the un-terror-fied...

So i say.....be unaffected by terror and we will all begin to see the truth.

Yes a New Era has dawned, it has been a LONG 8 years, I can't believe how much this country has changed since Clinton, finally hope and change are back in Washington, but unlike the last election, there was a very unique thing that happened, many people crossed party lines, believing in the character of this man, and his new vision for America. The race thing is old news, and died very early in the campaigning, this election was really about two different ways of running America, either extending failed policy or introducing real change. Prior to the Wall Street implosion, Iraq, energy and heathcare were primary concerns. Once the ground fell out of the economy, it was clear that major reforms were needed, and Obama was the man to do this. It is now time to heal a VERY divided nation and restore America face and values to the world.

Hi Brad,
From the Wiki:
Charisma is often used to describe an elusive, even undefinable personality trait that often includes the seemingly 'supernatural' or uncanny ability to lead, charm, persuade, inspire, and/or influence people.

I had never really thought about it before but this is the stuff that all great leaders seem to have in great abundance. I had always thought of it as a quirk of the personality, rather inconsequential to great leadership. But it is the one real differentiator between great leaders and average leaders or mediocre leaders.

It seems that those with charisma are able to use this magnetic quality to reach into the hearts of those who will follow. Without someone like that the world is doomed to misdirection, disunity and open to the influence of the selfish and down right corrupt.

I say "bring it on Obama and stand by him U.S.A.
