Apocalypse Now

A few months ago I placed a post about talk of an impending Apocalypse in 2012 and the prediction that preceding this there would be a meltdown in the financial markets...

About the same time I had a meeting with Merrill Lynch on quite a different matter, during which I mentioned the Apocalypse theory - much to the shock and disbelief of those present (who clearly thought I was a nutter!).

Well, yesterday I received an email from one of the guys at Merrills who was at that meeting, to say 'Rachel you were right' - and pointing me to an article in the FT yesterday along similar lines.

It seems that even in the Alpha male world of money, greed and power there are those (the short sellers) whose avarice is now being frowned upon... It is not an external enemy that will destroy the financial markets; it is the beast of greed that will end up consuming itself.

If we are to have a new beginning there first has to be a breaking down of the old structure; in my view we are heading to a world in which there is a much fairer distribution of wealth. A world where we are starting to live in harmony with one another and the planet.

This week's events are just the beginning.

Until the greed of the large 'super power' nations stops harmony unfortunately cannot and will not exist.
We must now start to respect each others ways and cultures, and work with each other to create this harmony.
World peace is the answer, in my opinion, to this world wide sorry state of affairs.

I don't think the problem lies with greedy investors.

The problem has been caused by those who are charged with the development and security of the financial systems. I am a cynic - so i do not believe this has happened by chance. I believe that this has been allowed to happen.

So Rachel's point about the lead up to 2012 may well be spot on.

The number 11, London as The new Jerusalem, The New Olympic Logo that says ZION etc etc.

But i myself will always be mindful that much of what is said and done - can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Be careful that you don't get - what you ask for!

One more thing guys. I wrote this post today on how house repossessions should now become a thing of the past.

If the government can can bail banks out then they can bail all the folks out who because of the flawed systems have meant they lost their jobs and some through stress related illness.

It would certainly be odd if the very people (us) who have helped bail the banks out should then become targets of those banks in the future - should be unable to meet out mortgage payments.

yep, times are surely changin..

Hmm, strange that, I wonder what will happen also when people are unable to pay their Electric or Gas bill, set to rise by about 26% I believe, will they just cut everyone off?
What then, one might ask, will become of those energy suppliers?

yep, well if they exterminate 90% of the worlds population in 2012 (by trumpted up wars), as conspiracy theriosts would have you believe - there will be plenty to go around for everybody. (except for the 90% of course).

I wrote a book some years back about all this. It was a book for mad people, bad people and the terminally insane.

Definately a good idea to stick to reality. The conspiratorial mind can send you up the swanee.

Stephen, what was you book called? is it still available?

Every one seems to have different views on the Apocalypse, I have written many letters to our MP pointing out several facts, I even had a meeting with him. He poo pooed my facts until recently when one of my points was confirmed. Suffice it to say that he has now taken me seriously, at last. It seems that those in the 'position' always seem to know better than average little old me!
It just goes to show that as you, Rachel, said before persistence pays! I am sure if I where given the chance I could rectify many issues in the world today, it is simple, RESPECT for one another!!

Cheers Stephen, I will give you my feedback once I have read it, if you don't mind of course.

Ha ha brilliant, ebooks are wonderful things, so Stephen what led you to write the book in the first place? Meltdown, breakdown or drugs :) Or are you being coy and you are secretly proud of the book?

Dlog, does this not recommending things work for large items as well? I am coming up with a list of things to not recommend to you, my sales should go through the roof! ;)

It is a terrible shame that these people have lost their jobs and will have difficultly securing similar positions elsewhere. Unfortunately the news this last fortnight hasn't been a shock.

Especially regarding HBOS. After seeing how just one part of the organisation works from the ground up I am surprise it hasn't happened sooner. At least there is a silver lining, hopefully they will restructure their marketing tactics and stop creating such terrible annoying adverts.

Leona, please recommend the Not To Be Recommended, when something is not to be recommended it inspires the phsycological danger side of things, the unknown. The unknown and should not do something gives me a buzz, as there is an element of danger.
OK I admit it, I am a bit nutty, but being a bit nutty does open up all sorts of things.
Think about it, how many times have you heard about the conspiracies that go on in Masonry, does that not leave one questioning more about it?

DLOG

Anonymous said...

Hi Leona, i wrote the book because "i could" and because it was a way of "brain dumping" and "reconciling" a load of rubbish in my head. I am glad to say that i achieved my objective.

My own research has uncovered a lot of skullduggery. There all kinds of shape-shifting creatures out there and our economic systems are controlled by a few puppetiers at the top. This has always been the case.

I also found out that to the ordinary man/woman - "life is not fair".

But when considering a response to "life is not fair", we should ask "could life be even less fair elsewhere?".

This is what conspiracy theorists don't seem to understand.

Sure, lets burn all the big guys that grow fat on our sweat and tears. But would the grass be any greener when we get to the new world?

Or should we make the best of what life we do have - and forget trying to buck a system we never really will understand?

Anonymous said...

Stephen, first off, how does one define 'ordinary'.
Life is what you make it, if your own concious is clear and positive that is what makes it fair.
I myself thought like that, but after getting rid of some bad luggage things seem to be taking a turn, all that is needed now is to complete that task! It will be done, and life will be even more fair and satisfying!!
Further more in a previous blog by Rachel, you stated that you can only know yourself, nobody else can truly know you, I am beginning to think that you are 100% correct in your analysis.

DLOG

Anonymous said...

Let's put this in perspective. This is not economic meltdown.

This is simply a correction and like all before it will be superseded by more growth in the economy. Economies follow cycles, companies (even banks) come and go.

Now in real terms this 'recession' will not really affect most people. Sure you all feel down beat but fundamentally this will simply be a pause in your ever growing consumption.

And that's the point. You may blame people like me who worked in the financial system but you have all benefited from that too. Its all too convenient to blame the banks etc. and sure they must take some of the blame but you guys cannot absolve yourselves entirely. You may not contribute knowingly but ignorance is no defence.

So stop whinging as you are all signficantly better off than the vast majority of the world's population and be humble for that.

The world is not going to end. You may simply have to defer the purchase of your next iPod that's all.

Sorry C, I have to disagree with you on this one, those who are high in the Financial World are very capable of destroying world markets, just one person who has done that is George Soros, I know another man, who I hasten to add, is extremely close to me, he single handed destroyed the the price of gold back in the 80's, so yes those in the financial are and do destroy economies!!
And we all pay the price!!

DLOG

It is true DLOG - you only know yourself - nobody else can truly know you.

And that is why we should all have the greatest of respect for each other.

It is why i get annoyed with "anonymouses". I want to respect them - but how can you when they hide away? They are like "ghosts in the wind".

There are people in this world who are massively powerful and they have not done a great job at serving their fellow man.

They need to do better. They need to let God into their hearts. He is there to help them, if they only reached out to him.

God doesn't play games.

Er, have I missed millions being consumed by fire or starving to death in the Western world? Catastrophe, what catastrophe?

Sure you now have to pay a bit more for your petrol, food and debt but you are still extraordinarily rich by the standards of most of the world's population.

PS. DLOG I agree that individuals can affect markets but please be real about what those impacts actually mean.

C, who ever you are, "I agree that individuals can affect markets but please be real about what those impacts actually mean." Maybe I am a bit thick, but can you explain further.
Maybe you have more money than you know what to do with, but many people in this country, business owners and staff are beginning to suffer.
There will be people who will not be able to pay their way soon, not their fault they have lost their jobs is it?
I really would love to know what your position is or was in the financial world.
Oh and by the way Leona, are you going to send that list of Not Recomended!

you are definately not thick DLOG. You are just showing how much you care and saying what many are worried about.

I understand what anonymous is saying about life being ultimately trivial and maybe it is for people of my age. But we must consider the children.

I had a letter from a nineteen year old today, telling me he has been too frightened to come out of the house, after listening to conspiracy theorists.

I told him that he should stop listening and start living. I told him that he was to young to share that kind of burden and to get out and meet girls and have a good time. I told him to leave all the worlds worries to the older generation.

To me life is trivial. To a nineteen year old - "well he has wonderful experiences ahead of him that only living can bring.

i agree DLOG, the law of attraction is a very helpful, simple and effective way of perceiving life. It is helpful in the sense that those who have long since lost their belief in everything else - can rebuild their confidences, without having to rely on the intentions of others.

You can choose to believe Law of Attraction or not.

And you don't need to go to church for it. It is natures kind message.

Anonymous said...

DLOG - you are not thick, it's just I didn't explain myself particularly well so sorry.

Ok so power is concentrated in some people, rightly or wrongly, and they can affect markets. Ultimately, though the actual effect is limited. It may not seem so at the time but the reality is that the system recovers, nobody is really hurt as a result and life goes on.

Do you think the collapse of a few banks is going to threaten the very fabric of society or will we simply move on?

Sure, some people will be worse off and that's not great but I can think of worse things.

As for me, well yes I did work in the city and yes I made a bit from it. If I lost it all I'd go back and make it again because that's what's great about us people, we are resilient and that's why this downturn is ultimately trivial (to borrow Stephen's word).

C

Anonymous said...

Stephen

Everything is trivial except in the infinitesimal moment of now.

I am merely a collection of atoms created in a star and for a fleeting moment of time held collectively in my form. Tomorrow I am gone and all that will remain is an echo of my existence.

I don't need a God because I think the world is an amazing enough place without one. But heh what do I know?!

C

Humanity needs God, when humanity realises that it can no longer trust itself to be the caretakers of this planet.

It is then that it will seek to follow God, again.

At the moment, humanity is on a self-destruct collision course. It is playing russian roulette with every facet of our world.

It has set itself up as masters of it's own destiny, which of course it is not.

Yes God exists, but to know this is to step out of the man-made fabricated, deluded, ego-states that currently exist.

You are most certainly a transient being anonymous, but the truth is you (like all of us) are not in control of our destiny.

God does the driving, we are just the passengers (pretending to be driver).

Anonymous said...

C, I sort of agree with you, but, there some people who are ultimately 'scraping the barrel, so to speak throughout their lives, you know, just about managing, they cannot bounce back, some people put their whole life into a business, house the lot, and then the cycle kicks in, those people are unable to recover because they have nothing left for collateral to back in the business to make it work.
They even possibly lose their family in the proccess, wether it be the Alpha male as owner or, 'Alpha female"!, if that is the right phrase for a woman.
I seen so many people go through this, and lose the lot, it is soul destroying to see this happen to anyone.
Unfortunately this conversation is to in depth to be discussed in any real terms on a blog, and no I am not being dissrespectful to any one on the blog by saying that. It is just difficult sometimes to put my real heart felt opinions into words, but I am sure all you clever people will know where I am coming from?

DLOG, I have been in the same situation myself and the only way to handle it is to get to a point where you say enough is enough and get the hell out of it.

The only way i did this was when my sub-concious mind gave out and i started having panic attacks, which ended in a nervous breakdown.

So you become disabled, depressive, aggrophobic and god knows whatever else. You lose your identity, you go to counselling, you lose your motivation, your self respect and you feel ill everyday.

You are lonely as hell. Your circle of influence shrinks to nothing.

But it is at that time, the time when you are at your lowest point, that you begin to know who your friends are. You being to attract the right people into your life for the right reasons.

You being to see a new you. The real you. You take it easy and not put to many expectations on yourself.

And of shame and guilt. Just forgive yourself. I reconciled this by saying - "I am Gods child and children can misbehave at certain times of their life.

And of anger and revenge, i said "forgive them, don't empower anger/rage with thought.

There is a way out, but it is a long hard road.

It takes a lot of strength and confidence to show your vulnerability. Anyone who has been thrown into the abyss and survived deserves the greatest respect and admiration, because that really is a journey you take alone. It is no comfort at the time, but you can come out of it a much better person. Even in the most difficult times 'giving' to someone else can be incredibly healing. Hope your life is filling up with happiness and joy Stephen.

Anonymous said...

thank you for your kind words Hani.

I would like to say to all those who are developing brands:-

"Don't allow your work to become a substantial part of your identity".

Because when you lose that work (through ill health or other circumstances), you lose a big part of who you (thought you) were.

This is very disorientating. In fact, i felt like i had literally died when i had to walk away from my brand.

If you are in too deep now, seek help from your mentors. Don't let it get so bad that you lose your mind.

Let go, lest you end up in a situation where you can never build beautiful things again.

Anonymous said...

In the meantime, if you start to lose it, don't be afraid to let go.

All that will happen is you will survive to grasp the reins next time around. If the people around you aren't willing to suffer the bad times, like they enjoyed the good times - then they don't deserve to be around you.

So let them go.

Don't hold on beyond the point of no return.

It could fry your mind.
